Originally set up as a Facebook group under the lengthy title Covid19 Virus-Support your Street volunteers of Chalfont St Peter, the aim was to try to enlist the help of local people during the Corona virus crisis. The response was overwhelming with hundreds of people joining the group. It became clear to the two local business men Ryan Toms and Matt Hackett who set up the group that they would need a more easily remembered name so the group became known as CSP Community – Covid Support.

When lockdown came into force Ryan Toms who had recently set up his own business remembers thinking I can’t sit here doing nothing, he had no idea how his thoughts to set up a group of volunteers would spiral into the successful group it was to become. The main aim was to connect volunteers with people who were in self isolation. The people of Chalfont St Peter responded in force and each road soon had designated volunteers called Street Buddies who residents could call upon for help.

The group have grown into a community hub which gives residents information about which local businesses could help with grocery deliveries, takeaways and which local businesses were still trading.
